After you have settled yourself in a place as favorable as possible to concentration of your mind itself, have writing materials brought to you. Put yourself in a passive, or receptive, a state of mind as you can. Forget about your genius, your talents and the talents of everyone else. Keep reminding yourself that literature is one of the saddest roads that leads to everything. Write quickly, without any preconcieved subject, fast enough so that you will not remember what you're writing and be tempted to reread what you have written. <...>Go on as long as you like. Put some trust in the inexhaustible nature of the murmur. If silence threatens to settle in if you should ever happen to make a mistake - a mistake, perhaps due to carelessness - break off without hesitation with an overly clear line. Following a word the origin of which seems suspicious to you, place any letter whatsoever, the letter "l" for example, always the letter "l", and bring the arbitrary back by making this letter the first of the following word.

ReplyDeleteŽinoma, gerai, jeigu ir apsimetinėja, suvaidinta ekstazė (orgzm.) geriau, negu jokios, čia be abejo.
Va. :)
Aš čia taip, dėl kontrasto pareiškiau. Kad nebūt per saldu.
Vis tiek man jos patinka labiau už vamzdį. :)

Do you meditate daily Minis? Have you ever meditate on a bus, car, meanwhile you walk? barbro from psig.
ReplyDeleteHi,Barbro,
ReplyDeletei do not meditate per se. But if i read that there is no agreement what the meditation is (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meditation) i am kind of willing to say that - yes i do ponder many diverse things during my work day (as a scientist) most of the things do involve considerable concentration, listening and creative manipulation of imaginative things in the head. On the other hand the demands for my work are very high and most of the time i feel that my brain is running in overdrive most of the time and i do not feel relaxation (which supposedly meditation might provide) though sometimes i do feel the enlightment when something brand new comes out of the work process and that feeling is really precious.
My other part of the life is also pretty busy and there is no time that i could concentrate on my thoughts, except when i write in this blog, which usually happens at night. Pictures that you see are short and temporary glimpses of what i see in my run. At some point i learned to notice some of those precious gems along my way. There are so many interesting pictures that i have never taken because i was just driving by. But interestingly enough i do now where they are and could not find them when i was there on purpose to take them. Apparently they do exist not only in space but also in speed at which you pass them. That's all my meditation.
Excerpt above and text in Lithuanian says that this is the instruction how to write a blog. When i read this passage from the book in the book store i immediately bought the book.
*Meditation* is a way to gather focus, and how one do that, is quite personal. As long as this *stuff* helps, so is it good.
